🆕 GTD Action Lists

  • Three Action Lists: Introducing "Next Action", "Waiting For", and "Someday Maybe" — the classic GTD action lists. Long press a task to assign an action list type and organize your work the GTD way
  • Next Action: Mark tasks you've committed to doing next, keeping you focused on what matters most right now
  • Waiting For: Track tasks delegated to others or awaiting external input, making it easy to follow up regularly
  • Someday Maybe: Capture ideas and tasks you're not ready to act on yet but might want to revisit later
  • Favorite Action Lists: Star your most-used action lists to pin them on the homepage for quick access
  • Sort & Filter Within Lists: Sort by due date, plan date, defer date, creation date, or title, and filter by project or tags

🆕 "First Available" View

  • The former "Next Actions" view has been renamed to "First Available" to better reflect its purpose: it shows only the very first actionable task from each project or task group, keeping your list short and focused
  • Added a help guide explaining how the "First Available" selection logic works
  • Supports filtering by project and tags, plus multiple sorting options

🔍 Enhanced Custom Filters

  • Sort & Filter: Custom filters now support sorting and temporary filtering by specific projects or tags
  • Plan Date / Plan End Date Rules: Filter tasks by plan date and plan end date with various date range conditions

✨ Improvements

  • Task lists now display defer dates — when a task is still deferred, the defer date is shown instead of the due date, switching to the due date once it arrives or is overdue

  • Location Tags: Add location info to tags - set fixed places (e.g., "Home", "Office") or search terms (e.g., "convenience store", "coffee shop")
  • Nearby View: View tasks near your current location and see their tag locations on the map

🔍 Perspective Location Filtering

  • Tag Location Filters: New "Tag Location" rule in perspectives to filter tasks with/without location tags

  • Nearby Distance Filter: "Nearby" mode lets you filter tasks by distance (200m/500m/1km/2km/5km/10km) from your current location

  • Improved visual effects on the project and tag selection pages

  • Fixed an issue where tapping a notification sometimes failed to automatically open the schedule

Project Due Dates (Beta)

You can now set due dates for projects. Overdue projects will appear in the Schedule and Calendar views. This feature is still in beta and will be refined over time.

Calendar View Redesign

The calendar view has been redesigned, and you can now swipe left/right to switch months.

Task List Refactor (Beta)

We completely rewrote the task list code to significantly improve list performance. Since lists appear in many places, this update only covers the Inbox, Schedule, Calendar, and Project Details views. Other lists will be updated in future releases, so the experience may differ between views for now. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Added Apple Reminders integration. After enabling it in Settings, you can directly import content from Reminders into your Inbox. You can further use Siri to quickly add tasks to Reminders, then import them into Locus.
  • Added a new Shortcut that you can view in the Shortcuts app. Running this shortcut allows you to quickly add tasks to the Inbox, and you can also combine it with other apps for more creative workflows.
  • Fixed the issue about inbox tasks count.

Major Update: Scheduled Date

  • Add a "Scheduled Date" to tasks to display them on specific dates in the Schedule and Calendar views. "Scheduled Date" can replace "Due Date" for scheduling tasks on specific dates without the pressure of overdue warnings if you can't complete them on time. This ensures "Due Date" is only used to record the actual final deadline for tasks.
  • When tasks are not completed by their "Scheduled Date", they will automatically roll over to the "Today" list in the Schedule view. Simply long press to access the menu and quickly reschedule.
  • After adding a "Scheduled Date", you can further add a "Scheduled End Date". Tasks with both dates will be displayed on every day between the two dates in the Schedule/Calendar views until you complete the task or reschedule it.

Major Update: Subtask List in Task Details

  • You can now view the complete subtask list directly in task details and add new subtasks directly.

Other Updates

  • Support sharing text, links, and images from other apps directly to Locus to create tasks in the inbox.
  • In Preferences, you can choose which tasks are counted in the app icon badge.
  • Fixed an issue where the collapse animation was abnormal when there were many subtasks.

  • Added project duplication feature. Long press a project and select "Duplicate Project" from the menu to automatically create a new project containing all tasks from the original project.
  • Optimized keyboard popup speed when creating new tasks. The keyboard now appears simultaneously with the new task view without any delay, improving the user experience.
  • Task note fields now automatically highlight links within them, which can be tapped to navigate.
  • Fixed an issue where editing interactions were abnormal when task note fields contained a large amount of content.

Search all tasks, projects, and tags directly from the homepage to quickly find what you need. For iOS 26.0 and above, following Apple's latest design guidelines, the search button is now located at the bottom, and the previous Process/Review buttons have been moved to the top left of the homepage.

The search feature is still in its early stages and meets basic search needs. We will continue to optimize it in the future.

Other Updates

  1. Long press the quick add button on the homepage to open the full add task view, where you can directly set task title, project, tags, and more
  2. Fixed an issue where filter results were incorrect under certain filter conditions
  3. Tag task list pages now only display active tasks. Different task status filtering and display options will be added in the future

Major Update: Enhanced Reminders

  • iOS 26.0 and above now supports the new alarm reminder feature. When setting a task's due date, tap the "bell" button before the time to enable alarm reminders. At the specified time, the system alarm will be triggered for a strong reminder, and users can choose to open the app, dismiss the alarm, or snooze for 15 minutes. During the snooze period, task information will be displayed in the Dynamic Island or on the lock screen.
  • Added support for "Time Sensitive Notifications" level reminders, allowing you to receive task due date and custom reminder notifications even during Focus or Do Not Disturb modes.

Default Due Time

Previously, the default due time for tasks was 21:00. Now you can customize the default due time in Settings.

Inbox Logic Optimization

Previously, when you set a due date for a subtask of an inbox task, it would be removed from the inbox, which could be confusing. Now such subtasks will remain in the inbox until their parent task is removed from the inbox.

Experience Improvements

  • Optimized the visual effects of the schedule view on iOS 26 and above
  • "Events" no longer appear in the Next Actions view

Review Mode Optimization

  • Simplified the interaction logic of Review Mode. We found that reviewing projects is a more careful and meticulous operation than processing inbox items, and users rarely need to "go back to the previous item". Instead, they tend to review in order, so we only keep "Review" and "Skip" buttons at the bottom of the screen. You can always view skipped items in your next review session.
  • The reminder icon at the bottom of the homepage is now more prominent when there are items to review.
